WPJA 2008 Q4 Contest

I had a pleasant surprise on Sunday when i opened my mailbox on Sunday. 3 of the images which i submitted for the WPJA quarter 4 contest were awarded rankings and most amazingly, Lincoln's door bargaining image came in first in the humor category.

This caps off a great year at WPJA contests with 2 first placings amongst the 7 ranked images for all contests of the year.

I didn't manage to blog about Lincoln and Zhimin's wedding but they had one of the most happening door bargaining session i have ever shot with visually disgusting food tasting (for those who are going to pop by our office, you will get to see it) and even a fake bride (above). One of the judges mentioned wanting to see the after moment, well here's what happened.

Coming in 5th in creative portraits from Colin and Josephine's wedding. Colin was playing with the polaroid camera and even took a picture of me with it and i decided to take a quirky picture with the both of them using the polaroid.

And finally, coming in 6th in the Action category is an image from Samuel and Yih Yin's wedding. I just love the reaction from the "audience" when Samuel kissed his bride.

WPJA/Brides Contest 2008

I finally managed to get my hands on the Nov/Dec issue of Brides Magazine. Its been 6 months since the contest was held and my image from Arvid and Pare's wedding is finally published. Its always exciting to have our work published, especially so when its in an international magazine.

What amazed me more is that another of my image from Jene's pre-wedding is also ranked 7th in the Brides category. The rest of the winning images are available here.

WPJA Q4 2007

Two of my favourite images of 2007 have been placed within the top 20 of the WPJA Quarter 4 2007 competition.

First up is the image of Qida and Jene pouring their champagne coming in 8th place in the reception category.

I remember that Qida was totally caught off guard when their friends popped this gigantic popper in their face. Jene, being her usual cool self, carried on pouring the champagne unfazed by the surprise.

Coming in 16th place in the Departure category is the image of Putri and Tetsuro walking down the stairs.
